What do my healthy trees look like?
Watch the video below as Jim Ostvig, owner of Ostvig Tree Care, talks about healthy trees.
Just the opposite of what stress trees would be.
They’re breaking bud.
The leaves are coming out in the spring at the correct time.
The leaves are nice if they’re green, nice dark green color. There’s no chlorosis or chlorotic leaves where they’re lighter green. So you have that nice, dark, brilliant green color, and then you look for the new growth also.
You should have the right amount of growth each spring. If your growth is stunned, that’s a sign of stress also.
But if you’re getting nice new growth depending on the variety of tree, then it’s a nice, healthy tree.
